Technical Explanation Of The "Modernization Of Derivatives Tax Act Of 2021"

On August 5, 2021, Senate Committee on Finance Chairman Ron Wyden introduced the “Modernization of Derivatives Tax Act of 2021” (“MODA”). Chairman Wyden requested that the staff of the Joint Committee on Taxation provide background, a description of present law, and a description of the bill.
